About Us
White Ribbon Australia is a social movement working to stop men's violence against women. We engage men and boys to see violence against women as their problem, and give them the knowledge and tools they need to fix it.
How we create change
We run programs in schools, workplaces and communities
Primary prevention is about tackling the deep, underlying societal attitudes that drive violence against women. Effective primary prevention relies on addressing those attitudes by targetting people where they live, work and play. This is why we run programs in schools and universities, workplaces, sporting groups, and communities across Australia.
Why we focus on men
Without men and boys, there is no change
Most intimate partner violence in Australia is committed by men. Therefore, we believe men are critical in preventing violence against women.
Our programs engage men and boys at the individual, group and societal level to equip men and boys across Australia with the knowledge and tools necessary to prevent violence against women.
A great course! It has highlighted the need for awareness of violence in society against women and the need for all to get involved in working together to reduce and fight this terrible reality.

Our work in action
See the work of one of our Community Action Groups
As part of White Ribbon Australia's Community Action Groups program, in conjunction with the Department of Social Services, the Girls on Country Black Tank Bore Camp helped teach young women about violence and abuse. The camp aimed to address the drivers of violence against women through engaging yarning circles on domestic violence, abuse and healthy relationships.
