Violet doesn't crumble

I'm planning a picnic in Mortdale Memorial Park from 12noon until 3pm ( pending Council approval- I've submitted the form).On Friday 20/11/20

I am 1 of Violet's 12 children who witnessed terrible violence to our Mother by her husband after the 6'Oclock swill at Mortdale pub.

This Park is a favourite memory of ours as Mum took us there regularly to climb trees & listen to music in the rotunda & attend many Anzac day Ceremonies.

It's heart-breaking to still hear & see the statistics of Violence towards Women & Children, I'm just doing my small part in the big picture to help stop this insidious issue behind closed doors.

I want my Mother's memory to live on forever, she was tough , hard working & raised all of us well - not a dud amongst us- & we have all worked & contributed to society.

I'll try to organise some local music too- Mum loved the wartime songs.

I'll gather friends & family to cook or bring food or people can bring their own.

I will get back to you asap once the casual use of the park is approved by the Georges River Council, do I ring or email ?
